During their search for Grant, a group led by Police Chief Bill Pardy finds Brenda, who has been cruelly enlarged by the hatchlings living inside her. The survivors deduce that executing Grant will eliminate the rest of the Outsiders before they are assaulted by the tainted townspeople. Bill and Kylie escape, but Starla and Jack are caught. Equipped with a projectile to slay the beast, Bill and Kylie head to Grant’s house, where the tainted are being consumed by the inexorably transformed Grant. Jack and others become breeders of more hatchlings, while Grant keeps Starla uninfected in hopes of winning back her affections. After sacrificing Jack at his own request, Bill attempts to use the explosive, only to have it fall into a pool when Grant hits him. Award restrains Kylie with a couch and tries to contaminate Bill with her limbs, but Bill figures out how to connect one of the appendages to a propane tank.
